Admissions Assistants x3 – £14.26ph plus Hol Pay – Central London
Start Immediately for two months initially
Hybrid role with four days remote and Thursdays office based in Kings Cross

We are recruiting for THREE experienced Admissions Assistants to join one of London's leading Universities. If you have previous experience of Admissions, gained within a Higher Education institute, we'd love to hear from you!

  • Handling enquiries received from applicants and/or their representatives to all levels of study.
  • Assisting in the processing of applications.
  • General office administration to support the central admissions function, such as scanning and mail outs.
  • Liaise with prospective undergraduate and graduate students and their representatives, members of staff and external agencies, such as UK ENIC.

  • Handling enquiries regarding applications for undergraduate (UG), graduate (PG), teacher training (ITE) and affiliate study (in person, by telephone, web chat, email and letter.
  • Working with the enquiries system and the Student Information Desk to handle enquiries within agreed service levels .
  • Taking ownership of individual enquiries, ensuring resolution either through response to the enquirer or through triage to members of the admissions team .
  • Providing an excellent, responsive, customer service to applicants and departmental enquiries .
  • Assist in the processing of applications for UG, PG, ITE and affiliate study, including: creating database applicant records; managing on-line applications and the applicant portal; qualifications checking and assessment; updating database records; and, verification of qualifications .
  • General administrative duties such as filing, printing, scanning, sorting post and archiving .

  • Experience of working in an office environment.
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment.
  • A good understanding of the culture within higher education.
  • Knowledge of the SITS student information system.
  • Fast, accurate typing and keyboard skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office applications and knowledge of using databases.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise work and think clearly and work calmly to meet service standards under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a tactful and diplomatic approach to communication (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to complete high-volume and repetitive tasks to consistently high standards of speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to procedures and to observe and follow regulations.
  • Ability to evaluate information against set criteria and guidelines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and share relevant information.
  • Ability to follow an agreed plan, knowing how to finish a job on time and asking for help if needed .
