Job Description

Hybrid role requiring 2 days in the office per week.   Great opportunity for an experienced administrator to join this leading university and support the work of this department. Reporting to the Director you will responsible for all aspects of the delivery of all departmental administrative support and be required to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality whilst dealing with sensitive information.

You will

  • be involved in financial and HR processes
  • update internet and intranet pages  
  • ensure that all staff records are maintained and held confidentially, working closely with HR and the Payroll Office to ensure that all necessary reports are filed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • train staff to use internal CRM system, ensuring content is up to date and that service level agreements are not breached.
  • be responsible for the provision of general administrative support to the service, including handling general administrative enquiries, maintaining stationery and general supplies, arranging room bookings and catering, arranging conference bookings, travel and accommodation both in UK and abroad, asset tracking, servicing of meetings, support for training sessions and events, and the maintenance of files and statistics.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent IT skills and proven ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience of working successfully with financial management and HR systems and of delivering general administrative support.
  • Experience of working in a higher education or library and information service environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of financial and HR procedures and issues relating to file management.
  • Knowledge of the administration of meetings and events.
