Personal Assistant – £15.66ph plus Hol Pay – Central London

Start Monday 17th January 2022 for three months initially

 

THE ROLE

The role provides administrative support to the Head of Department (HoD) and Departmental Manager, and supporting the Communication Manger in internal Communications, events and visitors’ programmes.

The PA acts as gatekeeper to the HoD and is the public face of their arrangements with all stakeholders both internal and external.

They will plan and prioritise a busy and varied workload in a fast-paced working environment, exercising judgement to manage competing priorities.

The postholder will also provide comprehensive Human Resource administrative support for the HoD in liaison with central HR Services.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Experience of working in an administrative support position
  • Experience of working in higher education
  • Servicing high-level committees, working groups and similar including meeting preparation as well as minute taking
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to write and present to a variety of different audiences
  • Excellent relevant IT skills (MS Office suite, management information systems, and software relevant to grant management) and willingness to learn new software packages
  • Proven ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, using own initiative to find and implement solutions to problems
