Job Description

Fantastic opportunity to join an exciting new division in this leading university dedicated to providing creative arts education to audiences around the globe.   

In order to achieve this ambition, the team are undertaking a major change programme across the university. Building the foundation for the new operations will involve both the evolution of existing systems for new audiences and the build of entirely new systems, infrastructures and process across the wider university.

You’ll be managing the delivery of multiple complex change projects as well as taking responsibility for delivering programme benefits across a range of functional areas across the university.

As the role holder you will ensure stakeholder needs are met, and that initiatives are delivered on time and to budget. Responsibilities include; defining the scope of projects, developing project business cases, and drawing together stakeholder teams to deliver and embed changes. You’ll work closely with the Delivery and Technology (D&T) team to hand over projects for implementation.

You’ll be able to take both a product-centred and a student-centred approach within the delivery of projects. And you’ll ensure the university’s service needs are met through the continued development of the commercial and operational roadmap for the division.

The ideal candidates will provide:

  • Demonstrable evidence of the ability to deliver user focused, organisational change projects with substantial structural and culture change elements.
  • Knowledge of a range of appropriate project delivery methods and techniques for different phases of a project/product lifecycle.
  • Evidence of the ability to define and justify projects, including business case creation.
  • Experience in building and managing project teams to successfully deliver change.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across the university engaging business users at different levels/grades. Comfortable challenging at all levels of seniority to ensure the right outcomes are met.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex and/or technical information to a diverse audience, leading to productive and trusted ‘partnership’ working relationships across the university.
  • Focus and be self-motivated, proactive and able to work on own initiative. Organised with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Planning skills looking at priorities and manages resources effectively to achieve long term objectives.
  • Suggestions for practical solutions to new or unique problems.
  • Project Management qualification (preferably in Agile methodology or equivalente.g. PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM Practitioner, Agile Project Manager /Scrum Certification) – desirable
  • Experience in HE, education, online training or elearning will be of interest.
