Reception Assistants x4 - £11.55ph - £12.64ph plus hol pay – Central London


* Five days per week on a rota basis, which will include weekends during the Summer months *


We are recruiting for FOUR Reception Assistants to join a leading Central London University, to provide assistance to the students over the Summer months and start of new academic year.



  • To deal with day to day enquiries from students, guests and contractors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • To assist with housekeeping as required, this to include handing out pre-allocated work to cleaning staff, issuing keys and cleaning stores.
  • To check in summer guests and students on their arrival.
  • To provide effective clerical assistance to the Residence Management to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Responsibility for receiving and sorting post and parcels and ensuring that all deliveries are appropriately distributed and accounted for; as per standing procedures.
  • To maintain student and guest records in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
  • To receive and log reported maintenance problems and assist with basic maintenance tasks as required.
  • To take payment for sundry items and to ensure that financial records are maintained in line with College Financial Regulations.
  • Any other such duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and



  • As all student records are electronic it is essential that the post holder is capable of working with computers and have a particular knowledge of Microsoft packages .
  • Able to demonstrate considerable initiative, energy and resourcefulness in providing an effective student guidance service.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • A positive approach to customer services with good interpersonal skills.
  • Good experience of routine office administrative processes.
