Undergraduate Coordinators x5 - £16.02ph plus hol pay - South East London

Start: Immediately
Duration: To end of October 2022 initially, extension possible


We are currently building a team of temporary workers who will provide administrative support across various different departments within this world renowned university. These roles will be fluid, with the need to move between departments, dependent on cover required and outstanding duties.


Duties will be based around the following:
  • To provide administrative support to undergraduate teaching programmes and their convenors.
  • Manage the allocation of students into seminar groups.
  • Manage the Department's attendance monitoring processes, producing registers and reporting absence from a central database.
  • Support the assessment process alongside other members of department professional staff, taking responsibility for the delivery of key areas such as mark entry and mitigating circumstances.
  • To coordinate the submission of assessed work and allocation of marking.
  • To contribute to an enhanced student experience by providing organisational support to the department's engagement initiatives.
  • To service departmental committee(s) as required.
  • To update, maintain and develop student information systems e.g. filing, social media, web, VLE, databases, hand-in records, option choices, and exam performance.
  • To prepare, update and distribute departmental documentation e.g. handbooks, module materials, and summer mailing packs.
  • To manage and organise departmental activities in relation to Quality Assurance and student experience.
  • To respond to Departmental enquiries.
  • To support and contribute to the delivery of frontline services – including advice and guidance through the Department Office on a regular basis/as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • Prior experience in an HE institution.
  • Proficiencies in Microsoft Office programmes, especially Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise a swiftly-paced, demanding and varied workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise a swiftly-paced, demanding and varied workload.
  • Excellent writing and numeracy skills.
  • Advanced ability in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people and to think creatively.
  • Ability to put forward new ideas and take the initiative in problem-solving.
  • Ability to work both independently and as an active member of a professional team.
