💗 Mental Health Resources for Jobseekers in the UK 💗
We speak to many, many jobseekers each week and what is becoming increasingly clear is people are struggling. Struggling to secure their next role. Struggling with the cost of living. Struggling to keep positive in a very competitive market. The pressure to secure a role can often impact your mental health, but fortunately, there are many resources in the UK to support you during this journey.
👉 Mind and Rethink Mental Illness
Mind and Rethink Mental Illness are two of the UK's leading mental health charities. They offer a range of resources, including free guides on managing stress and anxiety. Both charities also provide helplines and local support groups that can help you connect with others who may be in a similar position.
👉 Jobcentre Plus
Many Jobcentres across the UK offer mental health support services for jobseekers, including one-on-one consultations with work coaches. These coaches can connect you with resources like the Work and Health Programme, designed to support those facing health challenges, including mental health issues, on their path to employment.
👉 The Samaritans
Available 24/7, the Samaritans offer free emotional support to anyone struggling. You don't have to be in crisis to call and their helpline is a safe space to discuss any stress or frustration you may feel during your job search.
👉 Free Online Courses
For jobseekers wanting to improve their skills while maintaining mental well-being, platforms like FutureLearn and OpenLearn offer free courses on resilience, mindfulness and stress management.
Remember, it's okay to ask for help. These resources are here to support you and by taking care of your mental health, you'll be better prepared to tackle the job search with a positive outlook.
