Preparing for different types of interview
Saturday, February 22, 2025
Job interviews can vary depending on the role and company, but proper preparation can help you succeed in any situation. Here’s how to prepare for different types of interviews:
➡️ Traditional One-to-One Interview
💥 Preparation: Research the company’s values, mission and recent achievements. Practice answers to common questions (e.g., "Tell me about yourself," "Why do you want to work here?").
Tip: Be ready to discuss your skills and experiences with specific examples.
➡️ Panel Interview
💥 Preparation: Expect multiple interviewers, so practice addressing different people in the room. Prepare to answer questions from various perspectives (HR, team leads, etc.).
Tip: Maintain eye contact with all panel members, and direct your answers to everyone.
➡️ Technical/Skills-Based Interview
💥 Preparation: Review relevant skills and prepare for practical tests or problem-solving scenarios.
Tip: Practice problem-solving under time constraints, and explain your thought process during the test.
➡️ Behavioural Interview
💥 Preparation: Prepare for questions based on your past experiences (e.g., “Tell me about a time when you handled a difficult situation”).
Tip: Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your responses.
By tailoring your preparation to the type of interview, you’ll feel confident and ready to impress any interviewer!
